Working Principle
The TH-3103 consists of two separate measuring vessels that allow investigation of different gas state transformations.
Vessel 1 – Isothermal Process
In the first vessel, the enclosed air volume is compressed or expanded using hydraulic oil and a built-in pump. When the process occurs slowly, heat exchange with the surroundings maintains an approximately constant temperature. This setup allows students to study the relationship between pressure and volume according to Boyle-Mariotte Law.
Vessel 2 – Isochoric Process
In the second vessel, the gas volume remains constant while an electric heater increases the gas temperature. The resulting pressure increase is measured and analyzed. This arrangement demonstrates Gay-Lussac’s Law and the relationship between pressure and temperature at constant volume.
